Wickselm House is a therapeutic, part-time National Curriculum which assists children who currently need an alternative learning experience outside of full-time, mainstream education. Through our outdoor ethos and on-site farm, we provide an environment where children can feel safe, heard, and valued. They can connect with animals and nature while accessing an academic curriculum, with equal emphasis on social, emotional, spiritual and physical development. Our aim is to work closely with parents, carers, and mainstream schools to broaden every individual child’s prospects and resilience and give them the opportunity to thrive and shine. Wickselm House is set in fifteen acres of idyllic Gloucestershire countryside and includes its own smallholding with a range of livestock. We adopt a holistic and trauma-informed approach where children can connect with the great outdoors, be heard, valued, learn and grow. All our lead teachers have trauma training to a minimum of DDP1, SEN and SENDCo experience and training, Safeguarding Lead training and Level 3 Paediatric First Aid training, along with years of classroom experience. All staff working with the children use a PACE and trauma-informed approach and have SEN experience along with Level 3 Paediatric First Aid.
